BOOK REVIEWS

1.    Once I got past my expectations of a science fiction story and its need for characters and action in the past tense, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Except for the prologue, it's basically a bunch of stories (or "stones") told by government officials as they relate life in a space colony. Admittedly, some parts of it are dry and technical, but that adds to the character of the book. The English is a little more formal than what you would normally expect, but there is subtle humor and definitely a lot of wordplay. You can definitely see the time and effort that went into weaving this tapestry of words. Even now, almost a year later, The Broughstar Ghost story still sticks out in my mind because it's more "traditional" science fiction. ( Ani H. Manjikian, author of upcoming sci-fi series, Stars of Heros )
